#20 Clear Snaps

Each full set includes 2 round caps, 1 socket, and 1 stud.

Most people have no problems with clear snaps. However, we include the following disclosures so you are aware of potential issues.

Disclosures:

When using a table-top press to install clear snaps, extended lip socket & stud dies are required.

Clear snaps require more pressure to install compared to regular colored snaps and therefore install best with a table-top press. Pliers are not always able to flatten the prong sufficiently for a firm hold, depending on your material thickness and strength.  If you are going to use pliers, your material should not be too thin (ie. 1-2 layers of PUL would be too thin).

Clear sockets have a wider mouth (the center "o" where the stud snaps into) compared to color sockets.  As a result, clear sockets should not be combined with color studs.

Clear caps are slightly more brittle compared to color snaps and therefore may be more prone to breakage during installation.  Most users do not experience any problems.  Breakage generally only occurs when too much pressure is applied with table-top snap presses, so press users may have to adjust their pressure.

We strongly recommend performing a thorough testing of the durability of these snaps if you intend to install them on products that will be subjected to numerous machine washing/drying.  We do not recommend using clear snaps on commercial products.

Snaps are packaged by weight so count is approximate.  Pricing reflects possible minor quantity discrepancies.

It is true these are a lot harder to set with pliers than color snaps. I am having a 50% success rate. I snot sure why it didn't occur to me, but the snap being clear means the hole through the fabric is visible (making a dot in the center of each snap) and so are the tiny textured marks on the inside of the cap.

I used these on my FSL Bracelet. So far so good. I am planning to use these on embroidered clothes similar to paper dolls using cloth to snap to a cloth book or quilt. So far I like these snaps, I haven't problems, I also read the comments of the others and followed their advice.

I love my clear snaps. That are just as easy to put on as colored and I haven't had one break yet.

I found that these snaps break/crack more easily when applying. I applied with the kam press. But after a few tries I was able to apply the correct pressure so they wouldn't break/crack. Reply from KAMsnaps: Thank you for your review. Clear snaps are a bit more delicate than our colored snaps so they require less force. Anybody purchasing these should be sure to read the full disclosures stated on the product page: http://www.kamsnaps.com/plastic-snaps/size-20-most-popular-/20-clear-snaps-p473.html

I see a few posts about these snaps not as good as the colored ones. I COMPLETELY DISAGREE. If applied with the press instead of the pliers, they are just as good or better. There are many projects where you just don't want the snap to be so obvious and these are the answer. Make sure you keep them on hand or you will wish you had. I love all the KamSnaps. There isn't a color you need that they don't have. Biggest issue with the snaps and clips is deciding which ones to start with and how long it will take to get all the colors they have. HAPPY SNAPPING!

I ordered these for the time when I just don't have the right color to match my project. They are a little harder to put on with pliers, but they seem to hold just fine after they're on. Can't comment on wear and tear as I donate the items I made to needy babies. Love them so far!

I love the idea of a clear snap, so I ordered some. I hate to say so, but these Break easily. They don't feel the same as the color snaps and are not as strong as color snaps.

I hate to say it, but I absolutely HATE the clear snaps. I made some bracelets with these and before my customers left the venue, the snap broke off. This happened on ALOT of my bracelets and I would suggest just using the colored snaps for this one was a disappointment. The colored snaps have NEVER failed me yet.

I ordered these along with some glossy ones and some snap pliers. My order came in a timely manner, well packaged, and correct. Unfortunately I was not aware of the coupon for receiving free coupons if you order $25 worth of merchandise. I have not had the opportunity to use the items yet. I will update the post once I do.

I love these clear snaps for projects where you don't really want them to show, like the adjustable rise on a toddler kilt. It is important to keep in mind though that the sockets on these don't fit with the regular colors of size 20.

These do take a bit of getting used to, but work and perform beautifully. I find that they unsnap a little easier than some of the size 20, so when I use them for smaller/kid used products I often use these so that the kids can snap/unsnap them easier-I love them and will continue to use them!

I love these snaps. Though I can get them to work with pliers (used for a bib) you can really feel the difference in sturdiness when applied with a press. Definitely recommend following recommendations to only use these with a press. Took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it, but once applied properly, I haven't had any issues with these. And they get abused in daily life and in the laundry :o) love the way the fabric shows through.

I just love the clear snaps for that product where the color of my snaps just isn't quite right or where I want the prints to show thru. I find them just as easy to apply as other snaps with both the pliers and the press. Love my snaps

I used these snaps with pliers, a size 20 die and lots of elbow grease. I never had one break during application or fall off during use. Despite having a firm grip after installation, sometimes after just a few washes, the snaps loosened, broke or warped. I have never had this issue with other types of Kamsnaps. I feel that the disclosure on this product should be more thorough. These snaps don't seem to hold up to wear and tear, they seem to be more suited to decorative items only. They are really nice to look at, I just wish I had known this before purchase. REPLY FROM KAMSNAPS: Thank you for leaving your feedback here. Our disclosures above in the product description do state that handheld pliers may not provide a firm enough grip to keep the snaps in place and that a table-top press is recommended to install clear snaps.

I love these clear snaps!! I use them on children's clothing and they are fantastic. I haven't had any break so far, no issues with washing either. I love that the fabric shows through making the snaps almost invisible. Thank you so much for clear snaps.

These snaps are great for when I don't have a snap that matches just right. I haven't had any issues yet with these being more fragile than the regular snaps.

I received these as a sample when I ordered other snaps and I like them. They are more fragile than the regular snaps so you do have to adjust your pressure. I like the way they look on certain projects. I don't think I will use them for diapers though.
