Superficial Blemishes

Presses and dies may have traces of oil, dust, rust, uneven or chipped paint or surfaces, paint/surface scratches, knicks and/or other cosmetic imperfections from the manufacturing and/or shipping process. This is how they come to us, and we do not have any control over it. This will not affect their functionality. We recommend you wipe the press and dies down prior to use and attach a few snaps on discard fabric to clean the dies out.  We are unable replace or refund any press or dies unless a defect affects the function of the item. These possible cosmetic imperfections are reflected in the price.

 

Shipping

Most snap presses are shipped using USPS flat-rate boxes, to provide you with the best value.  However, because the presses are so heavy and must fit within the USPS-provided flat-rate boxes, there is a limit on how much packaging material we can use. As such, your package may arrive somewhat damaged superficially. The actual press, dies, and snaps themselves, minus any plastic bags or boxes that hold them, are insured against damage.

 

A signature may be required upon delivery of snap presses.  International orders that include a press may be shipped by USPS or Fedex and may ship in multiple packages.

So much better than the pliers! This is a great addition for anyone that installs more than a handful of snaps at any given time; however, like the pliers, it takes a little practice & some strength. It loses a star because the design of the handle hurts your hands. A cushion or cover, of some kind, added to the handle can relieve this problem, though.

I do not own this press, BUT my friend lets me borrow it ALL the time to use. I have used it atleast a dozen times and it it AWESOME! The pressure it requires to push the snaps together is very minimal. I use it most often to make cloth diapers, which I usually do in stages (ie: cut out all of them, snap all of them, sew all of them, etc) and I've put snaps on about 10 diapers at a time, each requiring 18 snaps without tiring. This table top snap press is great and worth the investment!

I own two of these so that I can more quickly set both the studs and sockets without changing dies. I LOVE my snap presses and have found hundreds of uses for them over the years above and beyond my business. I had been looking at the press for a very long time. I added it to my wishlist on Amazon and my AMAZING mother-in-law got it for me for Christmas. I LOVE it. I am finally completing a lot of projects (like my cloth diapers) that I had been putting off because my hands would get tired after awhile of doing too many snaps. Now it's no problem if I want to do over 100 snaps in an evening. We have made a lot of daisy flower barrettes too, that our church takes to Honduras on their mission trip. this would have never happened without my press.

I've had a few different snap presses in the past 10 years and the only one that has stuck around is the DK-98 KAM press. The DK-98 is a beast! It has functioned perfectly since day 1 and is still going strong years later. It's easy to press, the snaps don't get broken or over/under snapped, and it's very steady (no tipping).

Not sure what is wrong with it/me, but I have to use all of my strength to use it and the snaps are still not flat enough to secure strongly to each other. This is through 2 layers of PUL.

(Note from KAMsnaps.com: 2 layers of PUL may be too thin for the amount of pressure you're applying. We recommend adding a layer of fleece or similar material.)

i recently bought the DK-98 in red and so far i like it. the paint job is a little 'eh' but it doesn't effect the use. the dies are very easy to get in and out and i have had no trouble putting snaps on either. i think it will take a little time to get used to using the press instead of pliers, but I think it will be a great addition to my diaper business!
