  - Cap dies for applying sizes 16 and 20 snaps

 

  - top metal bolt for size 20 and smaller

I love the KAM snap pliers! I have my big KAM snap press and it is wonderful, but for just plain quick and easy little projects the pliers are such FUN! They are very easy to use and light wieght and portable. I got the xtra set for $2.00 and got a friend set up! Now i'm ordering another 2...sharing the fun!

I just got the pliers and snaps a few days ago. KAM snaps has been great! I ordered before a 3 day weekend and my order was sent out before the weekend. I was not expecting my pliers and snaps to come until late the next week. I ended up emailing to find out when it had been shipped so I could know when to check with my apt office to pick them up. They ended up being delivered earlier in the week and had been at the office for a few days! Wow! So quick and didn't even know to expect them! I tried them out that night and they are so easy to use. I was sent to KAM snaps by a message forum and I am so glad I went with them. They are easy to use, work great and a great price. I use these pliers mainly to snap my husband's sweatbands that fit in his hardhat. It does take a bit to figure out how to smoosh them just right, but after that they serve their purpose well. My husband appreciates them because for $6 we made him 10 sweatbands, buying them is $15 each!!

These are great! My only complaint is that the screws can need tightening from time to time and mine got so bad that the hinge snapped. Luckily my father-in-law was able to make me a new hinge and they work better than ever now :D
Best for small projects. If you have hundreds and hundreds of snaps, get a press, your hands will thank you.

I purchased a snap pliers as a "last resort" when I received a bunch of used cloth diapers that ended up having un-usable Velcro. I couldn't afford to send them off to be professionally snap-converted, so I decided to do my best, order a pliers and convert them myself. The KAM snap pliers saved my diapers! I was a little uncertain about trying the Kam snap pliers at first. I only have one hand and in the past I was unable to use *Other* grommet pliers. I finally decided to try Kam snaps pliers as they were the most affordable for me at this time. I was completely surprised at how easy the snaps are to apply! They centered easy and not much pressure was needed to set them. I've only used it a couple of times but I am looking forward to making lots of clothing and diapers and such to use them with!

Since I received my pliers I have been plotting all sorts of projects to add snaps to! These little pliers are a wonder and do the trick nicely. Read the instructions completely more than once-it is very important to seat the snap properly- if you don't the prong won't compress fully and your snaps will either fall off or just never click together right. I also recommend being very very very sure before you apply a snap as these little buggers are not easy to get off- as warned in the instructions...My only complaint is that these are not very fast- if you have a large project your hand will likely get tired. Also,the 'throat' does not allow you to apply snaps very far into a piece of fabric if you know what mean. Still,for small projects they are an amazing value-I purchased the cosmetic defect sale priced pliers and they were very very easy to fix. I also got loads of freebies! Awesome deal:)
Now I want a press for larger projects!

I've had my KAM snap pliers for about 4 months. I had been making binky clips using velcro and I saw the Kam snaps advertisement so I ordered the pliers along with the KAM snaps. Love making the binky clips. They make it so easy and look so professional. People have told me I should sell them. I read the tutorial several times but I understood it after I got my kit. I bought these pliers for converting my BumGenius 3.0 diapers from aplix to snaps. I was concerened there wouldn't be enough clearance for the fabric, but they handled it nicely! I ended up putting a die cap one size larger on for the snaps at the bottom row. With all the extra fabric, this made sure the snap was truly centered and fixed the issue of "lopsided" pressed snaps. It DOES take some hand strength and your hands may get sore if you try to re-vamp 18 diapers in a day, but that's a lot of freaking snaps anyway! So far, I have re-vamped some BumGenius, Happy Heinies, and a Thirsties or two, and I have yet to have a problem. I love hoq quickly and easily pieces change out, and the instructions on-line are beyond helpful. There are also tutorial GALORE so you should never feel lost. These are cost-effective, easy to use, and easy to maintain. I am so glad I went with these over a more expensive company who sold a similar set of pliers! Thanks, Kam Snaps!

I got my pliers in the mail last week along with the add on snaps. My only downside to this package is it doesn't have instructions for use included in the package. The snap pliers, once I figure out how to use them, worked great and the plastic snaps work perfectly for the diaper covers that I am making. I would love to get a press someday.

Great pliers, easy to use and have held up to many diaper conversions. My only complaint is that I wish I would have bought the press because after a while, the pliers can be tough on your hands. If you have more than 10 diapers to convert, I would suggest investing in the press.

I love my kam snaps pliers. I have only used it a few times, so far but they are easy to use. I was worried because I have a bad wrist so my grip is not the strongest, and I am able to use these. I was kinda bummed that you had to go online for the instructions, but the video instructions are easier to understand than the written ones!

this is a follow-up review since i've already reviewed, but i LOVE my snap pliers (and snaps and everything about kamsnaps.com)! i bought the defect/flawed pair and cannot find any flaw whatsoever. they're perfect. they are super easy to use and changing out the dies is a breeze! before i bought this pair from kamsnaps, i bought a pair of pliers for metal snaps at a local craft chain store and returned them within 24 hours. love, love, love!!!!!

The pliers work very well for me and are great for occasional use, but I would not reccomend them for anyone who is selling products, as they are very hard on the hands. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and find I have to stop after every couple of diapers to give my hands a break.

I use these pliers and am quite impressed at how easy they are to use. At first I was a bit afraid that they would be too hard to do and I would just mess everything up. Not so, I was worried over nothing.
The only thing that I don't like about the pliers is that I have problems with my hands and they can aggravate my situation if I try to apply too many snaps in one sitting.

I have an older pair of pliers, so they did not come with the multiple dies. I have the occasional problem with getting snaps to 'set' right (I'm sure it wold be fixable with the dies that come with the new ones), but overall love the pliers for the occasional snap job! I'm currently using them to put umbilical snap downs on non-snap/aplix fitted diapers and they're doing the job great!

I recently bought the Kam snap pliers to convert my dipes to snaps. They work great and are easy to use. One issue I've noticed is one of the screws that hold the (changable) plunger stripped out and doesn't hold well. I purchased a pair of pliers with a cosmetic blemish. They worked ok (some of the snaps broke or did not press together correctly), but this is probably user error and I just need some more time to practice. However, my pair did have an issue with one of the screw holes not holding the screw in place. Judy responded very quickly when I emailed to let her know about the issue. After several emails, pictures of the problem and finally a video of the issue, she had me return my pair and very quickly replaced them with a new pair.
In any case they are 100 times better and cheaper than hammering metal snaps.

I love my pliers! My hands start to hurt after applying about 20 snaps, so that's usually it for the day. But, 20 snaps gets me a complete diaper, so I'm not worried about doing a lot more. I love that they fit into my sewing box and I can use them anywhere. I wish I had a press, but I know I'd still use my pliers frequently if I did!

These are the best thing I've ever had for alllll my crafting! I use them mostly on my diapers, but they have so many uses! I got the cosmetic/blemished ones and have not had to replace any of it yet! The only think I wish would happen is that when you ship pliers to have the black cap in there ready to receive size 20 snaps. I have had many people ask what's wrong with their technique when it's just and issue with the cap. I myself had the issue!

I have the second quality pliers and I love them! I have applied hundreds of snaps in the past two or three months. I want to put snaps on everything. The only negative is the pliers caused pressure bruises on the under side of my fingers from squeezing hard. I bought a press but haven't tried it out yet. I highly recommend buying the snap plier second quality special offer before they run out. And customer service is the best!

I LOVE my pliers. It took me a bit of practice at first, but now they are thoroughly broken in and work great! The only issue I have is not actually because of the pliers, but I have cysts on my wrists that can sometimes make it impossible for me to press hard enough to completely secure the snaps. I think for 100% "healthy" hands, these are a piece of cake, but maybe for those of us with any medical issues (incl arthritis, carpal tunnel, etc) would benefit more from a snap press versus the pliers.

Really? I just received mine pliers and snaps and I can't keep the bloody thing on!!! Half of them fall off! I have to test each and every one and throw the rotten one's away. It doesn't matter how hard I press. And the silicone tips on the pliers fall off constantly! I am VERY disappointed in these snaps. And I thought moving from metal to plastic was a Good Idea. I don't know what is wrong with these snaps but they don't seem to like Each Other. And if you are NOT testing them before you sew them inside of something? Your in for a huge surprise later on.

I have used these snaps on so many things and I would never go back to metal snaps. I never even read the instructions. Just make sure the entire shaft is through fabric, and the socket or stud and squeeze. Never even had to adjust them. The only problem I had was getting on off that I put on the wrong side. They are the greatest thing since sliced bread. WOW! I am going to try and get all the colors because I know I will use them. The price of the snaps is unbelievable too. Keep everything like it is and you will be in business forever.

I purchased these pliers after selling my snap press a year ago, so I wasn't sure how I'd like them after having the large snap press. But they work great for me! I made my family reusable paper towels for Christmas so 2 layers of flannel, and had no problems at all and the snaps are holding on great! Much better than I had anticipated! Snap application is, well, a SNAP using the pliers & the little awl to poke through the fabric. I was skeptical, having struggled through previous ways of putting on snaps & "grippers" since the '70s. When the pliers arrived, they certainly looked not promising; rusty, funky, and clunky. But I followed the written instructions (which you have to go to the website to get - why can't they be included with the pliers?) and watched the tutorials, and found that it really is very simple and very accurate. I do wish that the handles were longer, or bigger, or made a more definitive "click" or something when the snap has been properly applied, but despite my worries, the snaps have all been easily and securely placed. You do need a couple of layers of fabric to properly support the snap, otherwise it can't really get the snug fit and the mashed-down spike you need for security, but for my purposes (snaps on bibs, so far), it works quickly and easily. Would be a problem for someone with badly arthritic hands, I imagine.

I bought the cosmetic defect pliers and the "defect" is no big deal to me. If you'd like the discount, I think it's worth it. Just a little rust on the one metal piece. Snapping with the pliers really isn't too bad, I'm sure it's easier with the press, but I snapped all day log the other day and I still could have done more by the end of the day... my hands weren't too sore. I think it's worth getting the pliers for the savings. Or, you can always have your husband help, like I like to do too!

I was really looking forward to recieving my snap pliers. I read all the rave reviews, but I am very disappointed with this product. There is not enough leverage in the pliers to get a good smash on the prong before the handles touch together. I have pretty strong hands and I have tried several dozen times and no matter how hard I smash the snap pops off the post. I am only going through a single layer of ribbon, so thickness should not be an issue. I was really looking forward to using this product, now it's back to the drawing board. This company does not refund period so choose wisely!

(KAMsnaps reply: A single layer of ribbon is too thin for size 20 snaps. If the fabric is too thin, the prongs will not smush flat enough no matter how hard you press. If buyer had contacted us with the problem, we would have explained that either smaller snaps are needed or additional layers.)

It takes a while to get used to centering the snaps just right, but once you get the hang of it you'll be snapping everything in sight :) Comes with several dies for different sized snaps, switching them out is pretty easy but the tightening screw seems to be a bit off sometimes, they mention not to overtighten and thats good advice

I've been using the snap pliers to make diapers for my baby - they are easy to use, lightweight and portable. And a good value compared to the press. There is a bit of variability in the evenness of squishing the pliers produce - but that's to be expected with pliers, apparently. I've had my snap pliers for a few months now and it works great. I use it to apply snaps to cloth diapers, clothes, wet bags, etc. They're very easy to use, lightweight, portable and fit nicely in my sewing basket. I have weak wrists (had one too many sprains I guess), so it's a little tricky to squish down the snaps with the proper amount of force. But I've found that if I rest the long side of the handle against the floor and press straight down on the other handle, it squishes the the snaps perfectly and with little to no strain on my hands.

I love my pliers! I thought they might be hard to use after reading the instructions online, but I got the first snap on correctly and haven't ever had any problems! The only time I had trouble was when I wasn't paying close enough attention and put the pliers on the snap backwards. I had to unscrew the pliers to open them wide enough to get off the snap. It would be helpful if they opened a little wider anyway, but other than that I have no complaints. I've used them to put snaps on 3 dozen fitted diapers and I'm excited about having them for the future!

I've been making my own cloth diapers and I thought I could only use velcro since I didn't want to invest so much money in a snap press. But, someone mentioned snap pliers and I had to try them. They are incredibly affordable and work wonderful! I was surprised how easily they are applied with light pressure. I bought the pliers after attempting to place snaps with a tap and die set for a while first. :( I had a lot of trouble learning to use them, even after watching the tutorial video several times the die always seemed to bite on the snaps and render them useless. The pliers always fixed the snaps in place as it should, but the snaps did not work. After wasting several dozen snaps and becoming a pro at removing snaps with my screwdriver, I changed the die set to the size lower than was required (16 for 20 snaps) removed the rubber stopper, and placed the larger sized stopper on the smaller die. Now i love it! no more broken snaps and everyone is happy, even if I'm not using them the way they were intended, they work great and I love snaps!

Now that I've been able to use them to repair 6 diapers I feel I can give them an adequate rating. Honestly, I wish I could rate them on more than just "rating." As far as value is concerned this is definitely the best cost effective means to do small jobs and repair (5 stars). Ease of use is a 4 star, but I think that the outcome of the snap adhering really can vary, so for quality I'd give it a 3.5. Why? It's simple, I have had no issues putting on caps and studs, but caps and sockets are another beast. I think that another piece that attached to the head of the clamp that fit better in the sockets would make for a better "smoosh." I have found that the size 24 cap works better for the smooshing of the sockets. All that being said, the pliers are very easy to use, and even with limited hand strength I can repair two diapers before my hand even feels it. Overall, I think it's an amazing product and with a little tweaking would be miraculous. Thanks!

The pliers are super easy to use. The instructions for switching to the smaller bolt and die are pretty straight forward. I would recommend getting the perfect fit die for size 20 snaps. With that it would make it foolproof. disappointed! putting snaps on an outfit for my granddaughter; two layers of cotton and stabilizer. snaps kept pulling off. took over 20 attempts to put on three snaps. then I finally got smart and after crimping I took a small nail filed the end and used a hammer to flatten the cap. hate to see what it takes to get these to work on tough materials.

I've never used snap pliers or press before. I researched and saw that most people liked the kamsnaps the best. I got my set and changed the die head to fit my snaps and started snapping away!

I didn't realize at first that I also needed to change the bolt so my snaps were smooshed. It would be nice if directions came INSIDE with the kit but kamsnaps is good about having videos to help. Now that I've changed the die head and the bolt, It works wonderfully!

I would suggest though, if you are getting these to work on anything fluffy to go ahead and get the longer prong snaps because I got the regular ones and am working on cloth diapers and some parts are too thick for them. ps, fast ship too!

These pliers are perfect! Instructions on the site to set them up are clear (there are no instructions on the packaging), you get what is in the picture on top of this page. The pliers are well built (I'd say aluminum casting for the body of the pliers, the dies are solid plastic, rubber spacer is good) nice quality and are easy to use. The mechanism is simple and efficient, and I think they'll last for as long as I will need them. My 7 year old is able to use them by herself after I gave her simple instructions provided on this site. Great product for any job . I'm using them for cloth diapers and other garments and I couldn't have done it without them. Great product.

I snap up lots of diapers. I've got my own business and a cloth diapering ministry. I only use snaps, so there are many days that I spend snapping. I love the snap pliers. I love how I can move around the house to snap. This makes it much easier to snap with a toddler running around.

I never have a problem with the snaps. They work very well and are very easy to apply. I was so nervous the first time. Now i'm snapping everything around my house.

I originally ordered resin snaps from a different sight and needless to say it was my first time trying them. When I received my shipment I was very confused as to how to apply them to my ribbon. Then I found this sight with the snap pliers and I was so excited! When my pliers came in the mail I could hardly contain myself. I was skeptical, but decided to try it. My job was to make diapers for my grandson. I was skeptical because I've had rotten luck with fabric store snap pliers. Not so with these. The first snap was, well, a snap to install. I've installed many snaps since then, with only one failure. So I was a bit iffy about getting the pliers, but I just couldn't afford the press right now. After looking at the tutorial, I applied the "new" style dies easily. Then got to snapping. I found it far more simple than I had expected.

The only other set of pliers I've owned are those cheap ones from WalMart. They were HORRIBLE! And took so much pressure that my arms hurt after trying to apply less than 10 snaps. Not with my new Kam Snaps pliers!

I am so totally sold on these things. They don't take an insane amount of pressure, and are fairly easy to attach to fabrics. As long as you read the tutorials before you use them, you shouldn't have any problems.

If you do buy these, I would advise you to get the newer dies for them. I use size 20 and they fit SO much better into the new die. They don't wiggle around at all.

Buy these, you'll love them!

this is an awesome product. i was hesitant to buy it because of the mixed reviews on some blogs. However for the price i decided it was worth a shot. changing the dies on it was a snap (no pun intended) took like 2 mins. its so easy to line everything up and press it, i think i have messed up once out of oh maybe 100 snaps.

so worth it, especially if you dont have the money to throw down on the industrial snap press. it does take a little time to put on snaps but the pliers are so convenient that i can sit in front of the tv and use them or take them with me if im going to be sitting somewhere for awhile. i would recommend this to anyone!

I absolutely love my snap pliers, I use them for personal diaper making and crafting. The first few times I used them the pliers were awkward, but now they are very easy to use and I use them weekly for something. The pliers are a great product for people that do not need to apply a tremendous amount of snaps, especially home crafter's and personal diaper makers.

First of all I'd like to get started by saying why the heck did I not come across you before. Had I known ya had a cheap snap press before I would have saved a few $100s on my cloth diaper stash. I purchased a few from cottonbabies.com and they are great but they are a little expensive. Plus my husband had just been laid off work at that time that I could not afford to buy any more. So now I will be expanding my stash by making my own in a more budget friendly way.

I had never used a snap press and I thought it was going to be difficult what I did was look at your video tutorials on how to use them first and saw it was quite easy and indeed it is easy. So easy that I have become an addict at snapping. I am always going around my house looking for things i can convert to snaps.

ID like to thank you for having such a great product, besides your snaps of course. I can tell you already that I have done some cloth diapers with snaps, mama pads with interchangeable snap on liners and some other neat stuff that I will not get into too much detail because I will take advantage of getting free gift certificates for posting tutorials but I can tell you you will be hearing from me more often.

Once againg thanks for offering great products for all those budget wise people out there like myself. For those who can't decide on a press or pliers. I can tell you that the pliers are very easy to use and there are really no major trouble shooting issues with these but inthe end it's all a matter of choice. Both products will do their work. But if you are looking to not spend so much the pliers are best. Plus just add some snaps at the time of your order and you'll be spending just enough to get free shipping.

I recently purchased a pair of the pliers for plastic snaps. I am really happy with the purchase. I received the pliers in the mail very quickly. I found the online instructions and videos to be very informative. I watched the tutorials prior to setting up the pliers. I had an easy time replacing the plunger for the size 20 snaps.

I tried the pliers for the first time on a mama pad that had lost its metal snap. I had no problem applying the snap and the resulting snap works great. I love that the first snap I applied works and looks great.

I followed the guidelines on the tutorial for centering the snap parts and made sure everything was centered prior to pressing the handle. I actually turned the handle over and pressed with both hands to secure the snaps after I did the initial press. I think for personal use the snap pliers are great and a lot easier than anything I have tried previously.

I have used metal snaps and a hammer previously and the snap pliers are far superior. Another wonderful bonus is the wide array of colors available for the plastic snaps.

I am looking forward to purchasing more snaps and using them on my cloth diapers and covers. Overall I am really happy with my purchase and the customer service.

I used these pliers to convert my velcro designed BumGenius 3.0 diapers to KAMsnsps. Unfortunately, I did not have much luck. Many to all of the snaps popped off after a couple times of use.

(Reply from KAMsnaps: A few things can cause this problem--fabric too thick for the particular snap size being used, not enough pressure applied to the pliers, or improper plier setup to name the most common. All are easy fixes. BumGenius snap conversions have been successfully accomplished by many with the pliers and shouldn't be too difficult. These pliers are a great starter kit if you're just getting started with plastic snaps, at a good price. From having researched pliers and snaps on the net, this kit is not only affordable, it's also complete with everything you need, simple to use with no fuss over what's what and do I need something else, and comes with quite a few snaps too. And if you are still stuck, the website has plenty of tutorials to get you started.

Plastic snaps are strong and available in many sizes and colours, and offer a good alternative to the metal snaps & expensive presses. I use them on my knit wear for my toddler, as well as for cloth diaper covers.

I was making my own cloth diapers and covers, and for that application, the pliers were just what I needed. They are very easy to use. Just place your snap pieces, center the snap, and squeeze. I thought it was going to be harder, but I was pleasantly surprised. Make sure you watch the video about changing the plier pieces before use. It was very straightforward and helped immensely. The only complaint I have is that I constantly have to tighten the screws to keep the pliers from loosening (and thus not working right) but I guess maybe now that I'm using them for more applications, I should invest in a press :) All around, very good, especially for the price. I truly thought I was getting in over my head by trying to apply snaps, but the pliers make it very easy.

I LOVE my pliers - they really are versatile. I have used them for putting snaps on shirts, curtains, diapers and soakers, and all kinds of things! I use mainly the size 20 snaps and have found that they can get off center and press funny resulting in a snap that doesn't work. For removal of those snaps, I just used an exacto knife and cute the smashed prong out of the socket or stud and they separate quite easily. While I haven't used a press, so I don't have a comparison - for a bargain of a price, the pliers work wonderfully! (KAMsnaps: Our pliers now come standard with new dies which allow for exact centering of size 20 snaps.)

I have found that these pliers and die sets are the most useful of any snap application tool I've used. The die sets are configured to facilitate centering the snap. Even though my hands are not very strong, I have no problem applying sufficient pressure to set the snap.

I love the Kam Snap Pliers! I was nervous to use them at first because I wasn't sure how difficult they would be to use. They aren't difficult at all! I really like my pliers. I just make diapers and projects to use at home and not sale. They work great for my small projects. Definately worth the money.

I have hundreds of size 14 snaps (reg) unfortuanately they don't work the best with pliers. You can not get the point to smash good enough and many have to be replaced after a few uses.

The size 20 snap works fine, except you have to center it by yourself and sometimes it slips and ruins the stud snap. Then I have to replace it. which leaves a hole in my fabric.

I am looking forward to dies that fit perfectly for our snaps. That will make my job easier. Also looking forward to being able to use my size 14 with more success.

(KAMsnaps: Our pliers now come with new dies that center the size 20 caps perfectly and can also be used to apply regular size 14 snaps.)

I love my snap pliers. I have made over 300 diapers with them and they are still going strong. I love how versatile they are. I take them everywhere with me I put snaps on while watching Tv, waiting for my daughters at dance class, etc. I have often thought about getting a press but the flexibility of taking the pliers with me is what is holing me back! I received my snap pliers today. I ordered the extra snaps and some ones that coordinate with the BG 3.0 diapers. Everything arrived very fast, and was in great condition. Judy was awesome to talk to about problems with checkout. I used a reusable shopping tote from Target to test my snap pliers and snaps. The pliers were so easy to use. I got the snaps on perfect the first time. I then converted my Thirsties diaper covers to snaps and it took me only a few minutes. The only trouble I had was when trying to add a snap to my daughter's mittens, the knit material got snagged on the bottom die, and when I removed my hand from the socket/stud the top piece slipped. I could have used a third hand. Overall, with more practice I know this will be my favorite diaper sewing accessory.

I had heard mixed comments about snap pliers and I was worried about trying them... but a close friend recommended the pliers from Kam Snaps and I'm so happy I bought them!! I use the KAM snap pliers and I love them! For years I struggled with snap applications until I heard about KAM snaps. I tried them, read the tutorial a few times first, and was thrilled with the results. The colors match everything I make, the application is easy, they certainly are economical and the look is totally professional. I am now saving up for a press so I get on to bigger and better things. If in doubt, try them out.. you won't be sorry.
