Which snap pliers do you have? Parts for one model are *not* compatible with the other. If you have the K1 pliers, you must use K1 parts. If you have the K2 pliers, you must use K2 parts. Not all parts are available for both models.
Note about Metal Shanks & Rubber Heads: for K1 Model:
The metal shanks (ie. bolt, rod) come in 2 sizes, one with a smaller tip and the other with a larger tip. You will need a "small" rubber head to fit the metal shank with the smaller tip, and a "large" rubber head to fit the shank with the larger tip. Most people will never use the "large" shank/rubber head.
• The small shank is approximately 3mm wide at the tip and is generally sufficient for #14 through #22, as well as heart and star, plastic snaps. We now offer 2 styles of "small" shanks. If you are replacing an existing shank that has worked well for you, we suggest you continue to use the same style.
- Photo 7a shows a newer style shank with a dome/concave tip. This is ideal for #20 and #22 snaps.
- Photo 7b shows a shank with a bullseye tip. This is ideal for #16 and #14 snaps, although it is very commonly used for #20 and #22 too.
• The large shank is approximately 4-5mm at the tip and is generally recommended for #22 and larger snaps. The large can also be used for #20 sockets to achieve a flatter press. Do not use with #20 studs or any part of a smaller size, as it may crush the snap.
